The Shearer’s Wool Shed, Paddock and Gardens have been lovingly converted in 2025 into a unique wedding and celebration venue. Set in the middle of a large paddock with expansive rural views, the shed offers an authentic rustic country atmosphere, you simply don’t get with modern wedding venues. Located just 20 km from Rotorua, on a working farm surrounded by beautiful countryside. Native bush at the back of the property provides the perfect backdrop for stunning couple and family wedding photos.
Our One Day Country Wedding Package is perfect for couples who want the beauty and charm of a rustic country wedding while enjoying the freedom of a DIY celebration.
With exclusive access to the Shearer's Wool Shed from 8:00 am until 12:00 am (midnight), you'll have plenty of time to decorate, celebrate and create a wedding that reflects your own style. We'll provide the venue, wedding décor and essential facilities, while you bring your favourite people, food, drinks and personal touches to make the day uniquely yours.

Our One Day Country Wedding Package is designed for couples who want the freedom of a DIY wedding while enjoying the charm and character of a beautiful rural venue.
Your package includes exclusive use of the Shearer’s Wool Shed from 8:00 am until 12:00 am (midnight), giving you plenty of time to prepare, decorate, celebrate and create lasting memories with your family and friends. Choose from several beautiful ceremony locations throughout the property, with the option of moving your ceremony inside the Shearer’s Wool Shed should the weather change.
Unlike many wedding venues, you’re not tied to expensive catering packages or preferred suppliers. We believe every couple should have the freedom to create a wedding that reflects their own style, traditions and budget.
Food and drinks are not included, giving you complete flexibility to celebrate your way. You might choose to:
*Host a potluck-style wedding
*Organise your own BBQ (BBQ not provided)
*Hire a food truck or mobile pizza caterer
*Ask family and friends to prepare favourite homemade dishes
A selection of our wedding décor is included for you to use, allowing you to decorate the venue in your own style. If you’d like an extra helping hand, decoration assistance can also be arranged to support the bride and her team with setting up on the day.

To help your wedding day run smoothly, the groom and his groomsmen have access to two private bedrooms and a separate bathroom in our family home while they prepare for the ceremony.
This provides a comfortable and private space to relax, get dressed and enjoy the excitement of the day before joining family and friends for the celebrations. With the bridal party preparing elsewhere, everyone has their own space to get ready at their own pace, making those special moments before the ceremony even more enjoyable.
Optional Vintage Wedding Car
Complete your country wedding with our beautifully restored 1971 Rambler Rebel. Available for an additional $100, this classic blue wedding car adds timeless charm to your special day and provides a stunning backdrop for unforgettable wedding photographs that perfectly complement the rustic character of Hiwi Farm Venues.

Venue Times
- 8:00 am – 12:00 am (Midnight) Your exclusive venue hire begins at 8:00 am, giving you plenty of time to decorate the Shearer's Wool Shed, welcome your suppliers and prepare for your special day. Celebrate with family and friends throughout the day before concluding your reception at 12:00 am (midnight). At the end of the evening, we simply ask that you remove your personal belongings, gifts and any decorations you have brought to the venue. To help you relax and enjoy the end of your wedding day, Hiwi Farm Venues will take care of the general venue cleaning the following day, allowing you to head home and begin married life without the added task of cleaning up
